Yamaha Wolverine R-Spec Named NRA’s 2016 “Vehicle of the Year”

Kennesaw, Ga. – February 1, 2016 – Yamaha Motor Corp., USA, the leading manufacturer of ATV and Side-by-Side (SxS) vehicles for outdoorsmen, recently earned American Hunter Magazine’s 2016 Golden Bullseye “Vehicle of the Year” Award for the 2016 Wolverine R-Spec.

“Everyone at Yamaha is extremely proud to be recognized once again by the NRA and American Hunter magazine, for exceeding expectations with outstanding vehicles like the Wolverine R-Spec,” said Steve Nessl, marketing manager for Yamaha’s ATV/SxS group. “It’s exciting to have the Wolverine named the vehicle of choice for hunters and outdoorsmen due to its performance, durability, utility and design among the growing competition with not only Side-by-Sides, but all outdoor recreational vehicles.”

To qualify for consideration for a Golden Bullseye Award, a product must have been recently introduced and available to consumers prior to the selection of the awards. Products must also be used or tested by a staff member or regular contributor to the magazine and/or affiliated media, reliable in the field, meeting or exceeding the evaluator’s expectations, innovative in design and function, readily perceived as a value to the purchaser, and styled in a manner befitting the shooting and hunting industry and its enthusiasts.

“This year's winners exemplify what NRA members want in their shooting and hunting equipment—outstanding performance, innovative design and value.” said Doug Hamlin, Executive Director of NRA Publications. “We congratulate those who have created the industry’s best new products and look forward to recognizing them in Louisville.” Yamaha will receive the award in person at the 145th NRA Convention held May 20-22 in Louisville, Ky.

The Yamaha Wolverine R-Spec features a double overhead cam (DOHC), 708cc engine with optimized torque, power delivery and engine character for exciting expeditions and backcountry hunts. The Wolverine's automotive style cab is designed to provide maximum comfort and confidence for both driver and passenger, especially in extreme off-road environments.
